I cannot activate the OptionTree plugin as I am receiving the following fatal error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /homepages/38/d351704281/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/option-tree/classes/class.admin.php on line 12

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Fixed it!

I use 1&1 as my hosting provider and I had to update the .htaccess file in the root directory of the WordPress installation.

    Hi Jacobus

I am also using 1and1 and have the same issue. Can you possibly lay out the steps you took and what update you made to the .htaccess file.

    Thanks
    Stephan

Same issue, but I am with Hostmonster. Would be really great if you post the fix so that others can benefit.

    Hi Webdaisy

I created a .htaccess file in the root directory of the wordpress install with the following in the .htaccess file.

    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

    This did it for me.
