    Hello,

    I am having problems with this plugin since yesterday. Before that it worked like a charm. For some reason if anyone wants to subscribe to the Mailing list using the front-end form they recieve the following error;

    » -99:Could not connect (ERR 110: Connection timed out)

    I have absolutely no idea what happened. The site was running fine and there haven’t been any changes.

    The strange part of the problem is the fact the MailChimp list Setup Options are not showing up anymore, see the following screenshot;

    Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

    Things I’ve already tried:
    – install the plugin on other WordPress installation (same server): Works like a charm.
    – Disable/Enable the plugin
    – Reinstalling the plugin (through Webinstall AND FTP)
    – Disabled other plugins
    – Change theme
    – Contacted the Hosting party to see if any settings changed (none)

    Hey jwvb,

    Thanks for posting. That definitely sounds a bit odd. Based on what you’ve tested, specifically with your mention that creating a parallel WP installation shows that the plugin’s working just fine on your host, it sounds like there’s a conflict with something on that specific WordPress setup. Generally the suggestion is to revert to the most basic WordPress environment, by disabling plugins, changing to a basic theme (though, these are things you’ve mentioned already having done). Can you confirm whether any updates to plugins or themes were made over the time in which things started not-working?

    To clarify, are you using the same API key in the parallel installations? This is important as it helps to serve as a control in terms of whether it’s an issue with the MailChimp account, rather than something local.

    I’m afraid we’re pretty limited in what we can troubleshoot on our end in regards to the local installation. At first mention, this does sound like there may have been a change with the hosting provider, perhaps with disabling the outbound HTTP connection that’s required. So I’d recommend once more to reach out to them and confirm that this isn’t the case here.

    As a last resort, you may consider using our embed form code (any of the top options with Javascript-disabled should work) and inserting that into a widget, so that you may have a working form on the site while you continue to troubleshoot.
