I thought I'd give it a shot with WordPress 3.0.1....here is the error I received out of the wordpress plugin page:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home2/trituste/public_html/intranet/wp-content/plugins/openid/Auth/OpenID/Server.php on line 368
Not a developer so I wouldn't know where to begin to troubleshoot.
Anyone else hit this same error?
thx.

I am experiencing the same issue after upgrading to OpenID 3.3.3 on WordPress 3.0.1.
I got the same error. Any solution?

I found out what the problem was with this OpenID plugin activation fatal error.
The latest version of the plugin requires you to run PHP version 5 instead of PHP version 4.
I had been running PHP 4 unknowingly and had been getting fatal errors trying to activate the plugin. I went to my web hosting management page and changed over to PHP 5 and it activated without complaint.
I don't know if they actually put This plugin needs frickin' PHP 5 to work!!! into the documentation, but they desperately need to.

How would I get back into the management page again? i wanted to deactivate this unholy plugin. my website goes through a wordpress login page. AFter I put my login information in and submit, things looked fine. But then when the http://thehullabaloo.com/wp-admin is requested, the fatal error pops up again.
