I don't suppose there's a way to automatically pull that nice description from OpenLibrary is there?

Here are the current template elements available for adding. Some were still being added by Open Library, but I haven't checked in a while. Send me an example, and I will have a look if an update is available.

This is the list of current template elements: http://code.google.com/p/openbook4wordpress/wiki/templateelements.

But as stated above, post an example from Open Library of the description you want to use.

on this page, for example http://openlibrary.org/works/OL98587W/The_house_of_mirth, the "About the Book" paragraph is what I was looking for. The text is:

Beautiful, intelligent, and hopelessly addicted to luxury, Lily Bart is the heroine of this Wharton masterpiece. But it is her very taste and moral sensibility that render her unfit for survival in this world.
