    Hi,

    I’ve problem with scheduled backup for last 2 months. Worked perfect before, and manual backup still works fine. I also tried to schedule it at differend days, but with no luck…

    I have PHP 5.2.17 / Apache 2.2.22 on my hosting (hostgator), WordPress 3.4.2, plugin Online Backup for WordPress ver. 2.2.6

    Here is the full log:

    warnings about keys in table also have place in a manual backup case, so I don’t think that’s the problem.
    Very appreciate for any help or any thoughts what can make a problem

    UPD: Just notice I can set hours and minutes in plugin’s settings 🙂 Will try to test scheduling in different hours also – maybe it’s my host realy works bad everyday at 12:00 AM… Will post results

    I’ve tried to schedule in different hours also – with no luck 🙁 Manual backup still works fine.

    I installed the plugin on 2 sites and the backup doesn’t work on either one. One site has the same message each day: unexpected stop. (deborahlindquist)
    on the other site, the backup has never run at all. (rogue merchandising)

    i just tried a manual backup on both sites. backup was completed on roguemerchandising.com but it cant be emailed because the file is too large. Here is the message
    The backup failed: The backup file is too large to send as an email attachment. (35.38 MiB).

    24th Sep 2012 9.04.40 AM Information Preparing to email the backup which is 35.38 MiB in size.
    I don’t have the online vault option yet because I still haven’t heard back from the company. So I still can’t create a back up.

    Tried a manual on the other site, deborahlindquist.com but it stops at 64%. anyone have any suggestions?

    If the following doesn’t help and you need more assistence, please can you raise another topic with the information? Just keeps the forum tidy and keeps separate issues separate and I do believe yours is different to liquidblasted.

    When you say “haven’t heard back from the company”, what do you mean? Do you mean the validation email it sends when you sign up hasn’t come through? If you check your junk mail folders it will most likely be in there. If not, maybe you didn’t enter email address correctly when signing up – in which case you’ll need to sign up again. The unvalidated accounts are automatically removed after 30 days so don’t worry about the old one in this case.

    Email is limited in what file size can be emailed. Most email servers won’t accept anything above 25MB. Some will accept up to around 50MB. But generally nothing will accept more. Additionally, in order to create the email PHP will need enough memory available to do so, and large backups simply can’t be emailed sometimes. In your case it just can’t be emailed because it’s too big. If you exclude some data though to reduce it down below 25MB it might email as it will need less memory and the email server will most likely accept it.

    For the other blog. What do you mean by “Stops at 64%” or do you mean freezes? If stops, what is the result? If freezes, we’ll need the event log so far (click Activity Log then View Events is best way to get it) so if you raise another topic and provide it that will be useful.

    Thanks for your reply Jason. i created an account with backup technology weeks ago and never have gotten a reply validation email for the deborah lindquist site. Everything is correct–email, etc. i just created a new account, hopefully they will finally respond.
    The system has always had an unexpected stop for my site, and thats as much information as i’ve been given. it happens every time I have a backup scheduled. now I see it wont work anyway because my site is bigger than the rogue merchandising site and chances are i cant get an email backup. So I’m completely stuck until this gets resolved. i have needed to do a lot of work on my site but wanted to back it up first. its put me behind 2 weeks.

    I re-requested a validation email for rogue and finally got it, so that one has been manually backed up to the online vault but with 1 error. looks like its regarding the home page photograph.

    Hi deborah,

    The backup you tried to email was 35MB in size, which is well within the limits to use our online vault, or to create a downloadable backup. It is only the email backup which won’t work for you.

    When you get unexpected stop you will get more information. Go to Activity Log and next to the activity you will see View Events. This will provide the event log. We’ll need to see that before we can help.

    Hi,

    I’ve tried version from your link, manual backup works fine, but scheduled backup is trying to complete task for 4 hours already (I have small data to backup – database only, usually it’s ~1.87 MB) and not finished yet at the moment.

    I see the status of task: “A backup is currently running…”

    And now I also see a red message “Completion: Unexpected stop” while “A backup is currently running…” is still showing

    Yes looks to have a problem there.

    Wait till it eventually dies off. It should die off quicker if you keep your browser on the progress bar.

    Then download this tracing one, which will produce a wp-content/plugins/wponlinebackup-tracing-359/trace.log file. You can email this file to support “at” backup-technology.co.uk, but try to compress it to ZIP file first. When it hangs in backup just give it an hour or so and then send it to us after so we definitely have some log data. You can then delete the tracing version temporarily (it will keep writing to the log alot so best to not keep it on for a long time…)

    Should be able to get a rough idea of where the problem is, then it will just mean working out WHAT the problem is, if it doesn’t become obvious (which it usually does.)

    The log you sent only shows a successful email backup. Can you confirm this?

    Are you able to reproduce the scheduled backup failing and send the log again?

    I scheduled backup at the appointed time, but, in the console plugin with tracing indicates:
    “Backups are scheduled – A backup is due to start at any moment…”

    and this was even after 2 hours of scheduled time, and no any new logs in the “Activity Log”, so seems like task won’t even starting with that version of plugin (official version starting it at least). I scheduled it again with tracing now, will wait maybe for a whole day and will post results then.

    Ok so after 19 hours waiting I see “A backup is currently running…” and seems it’ll never ending, so I sent a new trace.log to you again, hope it will be more helpfull as at least the scheduled backup had started.

    We found the issue you are seeing and did some adjustments and we’ve just finished the testing. You can try this new tracing version:

    If you get any other issue just email across the trace.log again. If it does work for you and you are happy you can replace the tracing version with this regular one that won’t create a trace.log and is what will be released as 2.2.7 if there isn’t any other adjustments made:

    I tried both version this weekend, but again, either 365-tracing or 364 can’t start scheduling backup, it always shows “A backup is due to start at any moment…” for a more than 24 hours since scheduled time

    Could you email us the trace.log from the 365-tracing? I had reproduced the error from the previous log you gave me and once it was fixed I couldn’t reproduce it with that 365 version, so it should have fixed that one. If you can get a new trace.log we’ll be able to see what else is happening.
