[Plugin: Online Backup for WordPress] Communication with the online backup vault failed

    I tried installing Online Backup for WordPress but I received a communication error saying:
    “Communication with the online backup vault failed. Please ensure your blog is able to perform HTTPS requests to https://wordpress.backup-technology.com. You may need to contact your web host regarding this. The error was: [Error Code http_request_failed] SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed.”
    How do I fix this?

    Could be permission issue in DB, You should contact your Host

    SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed.

    Hi tylerclement,

    Definitely contact your host. It means their Root Certificate Authority list is significantly out of date and therefore was unable to verify the identity of our backup vault.

    It generally means they just need to run Windows Update for Windows hosts and install Root Certificate updates, or for Linux to update the ca-bundle.crt file which is usually contained in a package called ca-certificates.

    Thanks guys that was it. I was doing some work for a client and their Windows server was way out of date
