    Hi whcinc,

If you email support “at” backup-technology.co.uk I can send you an updated version of the 2.2.4 plugin that might work for you as it fixes this on a lot of hosts.

When we release 2.2.5 it will contain the same fixes. The problem is we can’t allow the backup file to be downloaded outside PHP as there is no way to stop internet users getting at it, so we stream it through PHP so we can make sure you login to the WordPress console. Some servers it will always be a problem – for those, however, a download optimiser tool will work as it will reconnect and resume when it stops.

    Regards,

    Jason.

It must be .zip files are corrupted.

You may recover and open zip files through next utility Fix zip file tool restores zip archives in cases: ZIP file you have been downloading for so long is broken, corrupt and cannot be opened and others.

    Hi,

Downloading the backup.zip.php file and using a repair utility will probably work. It’s not that the file is corrupt, it is that the file is not supposed to be downloaded via FTP, and has some PHP inside to prevent random people downloading it through HTTP. Downloading it through the plugin’s page in the WordPress admin console will work though as it will strip that code out.

We’re putting in a feature to make it work even if downloaded through FTP though while still keeping the backup secure. This isn’t ready yet and some different methods are been attempted but should be implemented in the next month or two.

    Jason
