  • I’ve had the plugin installed on many development domains, and transferred it to live domains without any problems. There may be some settings in the DB that relate to the URL, but I always use a search-and-replace script to get the URL’s right so if there is anything there it’s not an issue.

    Hi,

Yes of course you can!! If you do have any problems when you change the domain name, do the following:

    1. Go to your Wordfence options page.
    2. Scroll to the bottom and check the box to remove all Wordfence data on deactivation.
    3. Deactivate and reactivate Wordfence. This will delete your Wordfence config and all data associated with Wordfence.
    4. Your site should now work.

However please note that you should not have to do this normally, the transfer to a new domain should work flawlessly.

    Regards,

    Mark.
