When clicking on document uploaded with Omni Secure Files, Chrome offers only a download, when FF10 and IE9 offer opening the document in app. My clients would like to be able to open every .doc in MS Word and so on, not depending on what browser they use. Is there a fix or a solution to this behaviour?

A client found a quick solution: use shorter filenames, without any spaces. Problem solved, for now.

I did further tests and found out that freshly uploaded documents get a new extension .htm, that makes document.doc -> document.doc.htm. What should I do with these files?! This is not resolved.

Can you submit a support request on this form.

Include an example file that gets it’s file extension changed and any as much information about your hosting setup as possible. The space issue may be related to your file system. We may be able to detect that and adjust the names.

We were making changes on our server and switched FastCGI on per that site. That caused the filesystem of OSF to create new directories owned by ‘apache’. not ‘USER’, so no previous user privileges weren’t assigned to directories and no files got uploaded. Switching FastCGI off solved the directory problem and everything seems to function as before. The client has built a massive directory of documents with this plugin, and is expecting this plugin to be around several years for now on.
Thank you for a such great plugin!
    Resolved.
