Someone else recently said that too, was this when network activating on Multisite? Or on the main activate plugins screen?

I don’t *think* I have Multisite active. I do have two different websites, both with WordPress installed. I vaguely remember being asked if I wanted separate installations for each site, but I’m not 100% sure what I answered. Is there a way I can tell? I have to log into each separately and each as it’s own Admin/Control panel for WP.

Here are the steps that produced the error:

    On the WP Admin page:

    1. Click on Plugins from the side bar
    2. Click on “Add New”
    3. Type “pods” in the search box and click search
    4. Click “install Now
    5. Click Ok

Here is the info on the next screen:

Installing Plugin: Pods – Custom Content Types and Fields 2.4

    Downloading install package from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/pods.2.4.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

Successfully installed the plugin Pods – Custom Content Types and Fields 2.4.

    6. Click on “Activate Plugin”

When I do that the screen jumps to a new page and this is the message:

“The plugin does not have a valid header.”

P.S. I looked at your profile. We are neighbors. I live right on the Katy Trail between Uptown and Oaklawn. 🙂

Does it work if you activate the version that you can download here?

    Well hello!

Additional Info: I am running WordPress 3.9 running Tempera theme and my hosting company is Bluehost. I don’t know if it is relevant info or not but it may help you troubleshoot.

I also tried downloading the zip file from the Plugin website to my desktop and used the Upload option and tried to install it that way.

Same result: it produced the error message: “The plugin does not have a valid header.”

P.P.S. I did the obvious stuff too, like clear out my cache, trying it in a different browser, rebooting my computer: same result.

Did it work when downloading from http://pods.io/latest/ for you?

    (@txcowboydancer)

Nope. downloading it didn’t work either.

    However….

SOLVED… Don’t know if I did it or one of you guys did it.

    I re-installed WP 3.9.

Then tried activating the Pods Plugin.

Tah-DAH! Who da man? WHO dah dude? Woot!
