    No, I wasn’t contacted about this, though I did send them an email after creating this topic. They wrote back that the plugin description was “spamming the tags system”.

    The first action for a reported plugin (if the report is valid) is to yank the plugin. Then email the author. Sometimes the emails are delayed cause of the overload of making sure that’s the only plugin issue.
