• I bought the monoslideshow 2.16 swf file and added it to the default wp location (wp-content/uploads/monoslideshow.swf). I installed the NextGen plugin and it works fine. I installed the NextGen Monoslideshow plug-in, opened the settings file, left it as it came up (after verifying the location of the swf file) and saved it. (I have uninstalled/re-installed the plugin twice). I created a gallery in NextGen and entered the tag [monoslideshow id=1] and the only thing that happens is I get the message “The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed” for a second or two then it’s gone and nothing else happens.

The documentation that comes with monoslideshow does not mention WordPress installations and I’ve followed the NextGen Monoslideshow plugin instructions precisely yet nothing happens other than the brief error message mentioned above.

I’m using the latest WordPress, the latest NextGen and NextGen Monoslideshow plugins, the latest javascript and flash and IE.

Some people can get this to work and, of course, I’ve seen the demo so I know it is possible.

I suspect I need more information on the file structure for the NextGen Monoslideshow plugin to work as simply as it is indicated it will.

I tried to go the route of testing the example gallery that comes with the plugin but the swfobject intructions were over the top for me.

I know many people use this plugin and I know a lot of people have problems with it. I’ve spent hours searching the web and have seen this issue elsewhere but I cannot find a solution.

Don’t know if this is significant but I should add that I am using a child theme and my WordPress installation is in it’s own folder, not the root. A redirect has been set up to the root. Everything works fine except this plugin.

Did you every get this fixed?

No, never did. A waste of money for me.
