[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] WordPress Custom Taxonomy Association

I need to associate galleries and/or albums with a custom taxonomy. The taxonomy is used extensively outside of NextGEN, and the tie needs to be simple between the two. Is there a known approach to including a taxonomy UI within NextGEN?
