    Dear all,

    I'm using nextgen gallery for my portfolio site and I'm very happy with all the capabilities it provides. Recenty I was thinking of developing a mobile-friendly version of my site. There are a lot of plugins which add mobile support, wptouch is one of them.

    Basically I have 2 questions:
    1) does anyone use wptouch (or any other similar plugin) with nextgen? If so, what is your experience? Could you share a link to a site to see how does it work?
    2) apart from having user-friendly interface of my site for mobile devices, I would like to have a different versions of my galleries in terms of image size/quality so that images load faster via mobile internet. Say, in general my images are 1000px (longest dimension)/80quality (out of 100), and for mobile device it could be something like 640px/60quality. Anyone tried to set up something like this? It probably can be done by keeping different versions of galleries, but it's not convenient. Any other solution?

    No info, anyone?

    Is it possible to add this feature in next release? So that basically there are 3 images associated with each photo: thumbnail, low res (mobile version for slow internet connections), high res ?
    I think is very important feature for a gallery which in my opinion will bring NexGen to even higher level.

    WPtouch does work with NextGEN, as does WPtouch Pro. Currently WPtouch doesn't swap out images for smaller ones, but that functionality is being added to WPtouch Pro in the next release.

    In nggfunction.php there is

    //filter to resize images for mobile browser
        list($width, $height) = apply_filters('ngg_slideshow_size', array( $width, $height ) );

    what does this filter do? Where can I find it? Alex, could you please comment on that?

    Sorry about resurrecting this post... but i'm really interested in the topic :).
    I'm currently using WPTouch Basic and planning on upgrading to the pro version. For that purpose i'm doing a bit of research regarding the plugins that are currenlty running on the site. One of those is NexGen.

    Has the above mentioned functionality already been added to the Pro version, and are there any examples out there?

    Thanks!

    Hi afataya,

    Due to the privacy of our customers, we do not have any sample sites to show you at this time.

    However, there are many of them using WPtouch Pro and NextGen in combination without issue.
