Hi,
Yesterday I installed new update and thumbnails are not generating. What can be done about that?
Any error message ? Memory limits ?
No error message. Memory? I have 14GB free space on my server.
One more thing - I created thumbnails myself and uploaded to thumbs folder. This doesn't work... :)
Sorry. It works, when I create thumbnails myself. I misstyped file name.

If you roll back to 1.6.2 , does it work fine for you ?
I haven't tried to do it
How do you roll back to 1.6.2 with the least perturbation. I don't want to lose the galleries. If I just try to upload I get the message that Nextgen is already there.
Same problem here. But on top, I am not longer able to create the thumbnails myself.
Same here: no way to add image, or create gallery. I can just upload a zip file: it create a gallery, but doesn't upload images. I try to add images to this zip-created gallery but still no working...
Please check first the behavior with 1.6.2, so I can sort out first some possible reasons
I used 1.6.2 until today and had problems too.
But I don´t now, where I find my server settings to post them here (sorry, I am absolut not a "professional")
1.6.2 works fine. There is also a problem with manage album page. You can't drag galleries into albums and all galleries are in the select gallery list. Going back to 1.6.2 fixed all of those issues.
About the album page : 1.7.x require a updated js lib , so if a other plugin didn't correct implement js call you will receive a conflict, but I can't fix that at my side.
mmm maybe can solve my "shutter" problem too.. where do I find JS lib updates?
Ah I found my settings

Ah thank you - that solved the problem!
It turns out my directory was not * cmod at 777 !!
Works out this problem with the upgrade to 1.7.2
* i.e. make the directory write-able.
Now I am not sure if the upgrade somehow changed the permissions, cause I swear they were all set to 777 before, so you may need to reset them, I did and it worked.
Actually after the upgrade to 1.7.2 ...
creating a few thumbnails at once works i.e. creating 3 to 10 thumbs at once worked.
and trying to create a bunch did not work (25+ thumbs at once did not work for me)
[[ sometimes it is working and sometimes not so much... creating less thumbnails seems to work better ]]

same problem, thumbnails aren't generating.
I upgraded Jquery Library to 1.4.4 from 1.4.2 (1.4.2 is the wordpress default)
It worked after the jquery update. (the thumbnails)
how have you upgraded just Jquery library?
thanks
For me it was that the new update uses more memory. Had to change my PHP Limit from 32M to 64M. Ya it's a lot.

Hi,
Please help me in the same case.
I have the same issue with thumbnails creating. I have tried to increase memory limit, change the attributes to 777.
I can not downgrade to 1.6.2 because it says I already have nextgen installed. It is not an option to lose my galleries and pictures with remove nextgen and install an earlier version.
Is there any way to downgrade to 1.6.2 without any data lose?
Or how can I update my jquery to 1.4.4?
Much appreciate!
Regards,
Agreis
