  • Not much help, but I get the same problem. Thumbnails fine in Firefox, but are ‘skinny’, in IE. Playing around a bit, it seems to get the height correct, and height changes when you modify the thumbnail size, but width remains very low. Can anyone help?

I’m having the same problem. I have a customized version of the Twenty Eleven theme. The thumbnails are 15px wide and they are supposed to be 175px wide. This problem only shows up on IE8. It displays properly on Firefox and IE9. When I change themes to Twenty Ten, everything displays properly.

Anyone know why? My guess is javascript conflict, but where?

OK, when I hit compatibility view in IE8, it diplays properly.

Found the answer I needed from NativePaul on this post. It fixed my display issue.

Thanks to Designophobia & NativePaul. The fix in that post has worked for me also.

Guess we should treat this as a workaround rather than a fix though, since we loose some flexibility with it, i.e. specifying the thumbnail width in the CSS means you need to have all thumbnails the same width? That’s not a problem for me at present though.
