• What I am trying to do:
I would like 5 “Albums” to show on my page.
When someone clicks on an Album (eg “People”), I want a new page to open, displaying the “Galleries” that are in the Album (eg “Portraits”, “Weddings”, “Family” etc).

    What I have done:
On my “photo Gallery” page on my website, I have put these shortcodes:
    [album id=18 template=compact]
    [album id=19 template=compact]
    [album id=20 template=compact]
    [album id=21 template=compact]
    [album id=22 template=compact]
In NextGen, I have created the albums, and put the galleries into them.

    What has happened:
On my “photo gallery” page, it displays each of the GALLERIES (not albums), and they are not in the “compact” style.

    Here is the page

I hope that I have explained myself clearly! I am not a programmer at all, so I am more than likely missing something obvious!

    Thanks for your help 🙂

  • If you haven’t gotten this figured out yet, here is a solution as I don’t think there is any way to do this directly within NextGEN.

Create a ‘Page’ with the name of your album as the title.

In the ‘Page’ content put your [album id=18 template=compact].

The [album id=18 template=compact] tag will display the thumbnail for the galleries on the page that people can click through to.

    Hope this helps.
