[resolved] Still not working with WP MU 3.0.3 (5 posts)

I've tried it twice, but it simply won't work. Thumbnails and pictures are neither displayed in the backend nor in the front end. Trying to open a picture on the front end via the placeholder of the non-existent thumbnails generates a off-site 404 error telling me that there is no "blogs.php".

The plugin still seems to be at odds with the blogs.dir structure on a multi site install - and it doesn't matter whether the thing is activated for all blogs or just for one.

    Sorry, all wrong!

It was entirely my mistake (or somebody else's who fiddled with the .htaccess of my network).

NGG WORKS PERFECTLY ON A MULTISITE.

Want went wrong in my network was some deprecated code for the file upload in .htaccess.

    There it said:
    #uploaded files
    RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/$ index.php [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !.*wp-content/plugins.*
    RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/(.*) wp-content/blogs.php?file=$2 [L]

Well, that can't possibly work since there is no blog.php in wp-content in WP 3.0.3

The correct line for the current WP version are
    # uploaded files
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]

That way NextGen Gallery runs just like a charm on multi site installations.

    Sorry, Alex

    Thanks for the feedback !

  4. RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/(.*) wp-content/blogs.php?file=$2 [L]

Well, that can't possibly work since there is no blog.php in wp-content in WP 3.0.3

you would have been instructed to change that line when upgrading from WPMU to wp 3.x. :)

That's what I said and I certainly didn't put it there. The old code appeared after installation of w3TC. Either it came from the plugin or from Mr. Scrooge.
