Hi,
I'm using the nexgen gallery slideshow setting on my site and have a couple questions. Right now I'm using the free imagerotator.swf file and upon mouseover a link to JWplayer appears. I'm assuming that if I upgrade to the commercial license that will go away, correct? I also wanted to know how I can have a caption appear over the images in the slideshow on mouseover? Is this related to the license as well? Or maybe another setting?
Any help is appreciated.

As far as i know yes, please contact Longtail Video wehen the licend player still contain the logo. Check also all flashvar settings : http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/wiki/ImageRotatorVars

Ok,
So in theory then, purchasing the license should enable the same mouseover effect shown at : http://nextgen-gallery.com/slideshow/
Does the description text get referenced from the info included in the manage gallery panel?
No this is already included, you only need to set this the slideshow options

Thanks for the info Alex, you can see at http://mtspacewebdesign.com/ that when a visitor hovers over any of the images my title text doesn't display. That's because of the trial? Or am I missing a setting somewhere else?

The description text indeed does get referenced from the "Manage Gallery" it will pull the title if there's a title, and if description if no title. It doesn't do multiple lines very well though.
And as alexrabe mentioned the flashvars editing is very useful. It took me awhile to figure out that you need to edit nggfunctions.php to edit those vars. Also if you're interested in doing full screen option you'll want to set the overstretch option to 'true'
