Here is my problem: I sometimes upload huge pictures to NextGen Gallery but I don't want Slimbox to open it in it's original size.
Here is what I do:
1) I upload a huge picture (say 2048x1365 px)
2) NextGen Gallery seems to store that picture in its original size
3) It then shows me a thumbnail on my site with 100x75 px (as specified in "Options" > "Thumbnails") - perfect.
4) When I click on the thumbnail, the pop-up appears with the the slimbox effect in 2048x1365px - way too big!
Is there any way to have a smaller pop-up, say 800x600 px? What's the value in "Options" > "Images" for? I've entered 800x600 px there but it does not seem to effect anything?

Hi betadog, I'm chasing the same problem, have you had any luck?
I have image width set at 500px under options but when uploading pictures, either one by one or a folder of pictures, they are not resized down to 500px wide

same prob.
I've seen this but have no idea how to do it myself: little thumbs, something around 700ish px wide gallery/slideshow views, and if user right-clicks > 'Open in new window or whatever' they get just the image in full rez. This is what I want, too.
Spent all day fighting with NextGen and this is the one thing I haven't figured out yet. Any help much appreciated.
