[Plugin: NextGen Gallery] Show full image *next to* thumbnails instead of popup?

I want to do something like this:

Go to Collections > The Bride > (click any brand)

There is a column of thumbnails, and clicking a thumbnail loads the full size image next to the thumbnails, within the already loaded page. Obviously this is Flash, but I want to do something similar with NGG.

I’ve looked through a few Lightbox-like viewer plugins, but I haven’t seen anything very similar, and any Lightbox type plugin is still going to be in a popup, which I’d prefer to avoid.

Any way around this? iframe? (shudder!)
