Hello,
I am trying to do this too.
It appears imagerotator.swf can accept paramaters from an XML file. I believe there’s a way to add the URL to the XML file. Then clicking on the sidebar slideshow will go the URL you specify. I read about this on a magento tutorial.
My other idea is to position an absolutely positioned link over the slideshow div using z-index. This link would have the same dimensions as the slideshow div. This is kind of a skeevy hack but I will use it if it works and I can’t figure out the XML method.
The best solution would be a checkbox in the config screen that enables this alternate click behavior.
Alex if you read my message, please include this! Thanks for the great plugin.
The XML is generated by imagerotator.php. I tried editing that but it didn’t seem to work for me.
There are also variables called flashvars that control link behavior from the images in the flash slideshow. Those are generated in nggfunctions.php. I edited those too but I still didn’t get what I wanted.
I wrote about it on the support forum of the publisher of the imagerotator.
I hope someone can figure this out.
