   Nextgen Gallery V1.3.5 - 17.07.2009

   After upgrading to 2.8.4 Piclens does not show options bar and does not allow closing of full-screen to gallery page

   no way to escape without dumping page.

   in previous version, as I remember, the piclens image was smaller with an obvious X to escape viewer. Image is much larger now and any click on image dumps it.

   OK, no idea what happened.
   I deactivated plugin and reactivated and its working fine now.
   Thanks for looking.
