Password Protecting A Gallery (3 posts)

    Hi there:

I'd like to be able to password protect a gallery or galleries, I figured there'd be an option with the plugin as it really seems to cover all the bases but i don't find the option anywhere. Searching for an additional plugin to stack on top of this gave results that weren't applicable (like i'd get results for plugins having to do with global admin or global user passwords but nothing to protect a page or gallery)
Does the ability to password protect them exist in the plugin but i'm just not seeing it or do i need an additional one, and if so are there any recommendations for a good one ?

    regards
    Heywood

You can do that in wordpress by editing the Page that holds the gallery to set the visibility to 'Password protected'.

Let's say that you want to have a page that lists ALL of your galleries as thumbnails. I want to click on one of these gallery thumbnail links and prompt the user with a password.

I understand that you can insert a gallery on to a page and password protect the page, but that doesn't suit my requirements. I cannot expect my client - the website owner - to have to create a page for each gallery, create a password and THEN to manually update the page that lists all of the galleries with a link to the password protected gallery.

What we need is to insert an all galleries tag into a page and to set a password at the gallery level, not the page level.
