   I can't get pagination to work. When I add new new thumbs it just adds them to the same single page. Here is the code I am using on the pages.[gallery=# orderby="rand"]. Everything else is working the way I want it to.

   Random simply loads a random image on page load...review the documentation (for proper shotcode) at NextGen Gallery website.

   That said, use simply:

   [nggallery id=x]

   And set the options (in NextGen settings) to display x rows and x images per page, 1 for both works well.

   This is due to NextGen not being able to read every different theme layout, understand your site design, too many variations...
