[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Non-Ascii Characters in Links (3 posts)

    Hello. Great Plugin.

    I have come across an issue which causes problems for SEO & Validation.

    If a filename is referenced that has non-ascii characters, it currently not converted per w3 specifications. Most commonly, ampersands breaks xhtml validation, and spaces confuse Googlebot / SE crawlers, causing them to see invalid filenames.

    For example, this link:
    'href="/photo name a&b.jpg"'

    Should be converted to:
    'href="/photo%20name%20a&b.jpg"'

    According to W3:
    http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/appendix/notes.html#non-ascii-chars

    Cheers.

    Hmm, my ampersand example was interpreted incorrectly.
    Should be:
    href="/photo%20name%20a&b.jpg
