[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] No exif data? (11 posts)

I use the WP 2.6 with NextGEN Gallery V00.98 in combination with XML Google Maps V1.9.

Is it possible to upload an image with EXIF data (like Latitude, Longitude, Attitude) and show the image on a Google Map?

When I upload an image with Piscasa (KML file), there is no problem, but when I upload it with NextGEN Gallery, I can't see the picture on the Google Map.

When I generate an KML file on the Google Picasa website and I import the KML file, I could see an Map with and the Photo, so that correct.

Is it not possible to upload photo's with EXIF data, and show that photo on a Google Map. Because the photo's have EXIF data for location recognition.

I think it must be possible with the two plugins, but I can't understand why my photos are not on the map.

Link to a photo with EXIF data:

Can someone help me to solve this problem?

Please request the autor of XML Google maps for help. seems to be not an NextGEN issue (as long as you not resize the imeages wich NextGEN , because this process removes the Exif data, unfortunately ...)

    Hi
I have no problem with this image. I simply added it to a Gallery, and then I entered
[xmlgm ngg_gallery=x] (x stands for the NextGEN Gallery ID)
    or
[xmlgm ngg_picture=x] (x stands for the NextGEN Picture ID).

The picture suddenly appears in Tenerife in the post...

    Hi dschuesae,

Can you tell me what is going wrong?
See my screenshots of publishing the photo on the map.

And how does it look like in your post?
Did you activate the XML Google Maps Plugin?
Did you configure a Google Maps API Key?

    Should I reinstall the plugins?
The XML Google Map and the NextGen?
If so, in witch order should I install the plugins?

I think your PHP installtion does not support the EXIF functions, but it's only a speculation...

When I show the meta data in Gallery, I see as result: "No exif data".
I think there is a problem with reading the EXIF data of the photo's. Is there a method how to check the reading of EXIF data of photo's?

Have a look at http://ch2.php.net/manual/en/book.exif.php ! You can check if the exif_read_data function exists!

    Hi dschuesae,

Thanks you for your information about reading EXIF data. This was not supported on my website. My hostingprovider has activated the module(?) and it works.

    Thank you!

    Hi Alex,

    Wil this:
"Please request the autor of XML Google maps for help. seems to be not an NextGEN issue (as long as you not resize the imeages wich NextGEN , because this process removes the Exif data, unfortunately ...)"

Be resolved in a later version?
Or perhaps will it be possible to add the required Exif data for Google Maps thourgh NextGen?
