[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] NextGenGallery: Suggestion re anchors for galleries contained deeper in po (2 posts)

If I place a gallery at a deeper position within a long post so that the gallery comes well below the fold, then use the ordinary paging that refreshes each time with the next set of thumbs, the user has to scroll all the way down the page to see the updated gallery.

Would it be possible and indeed useful to append to the paging hyperlinks so that instead of:

    http://www.mikepadgett.com/nggallery/page-230/album-1/gallery-36/page-2/

    you might have something like:

    http://www.mikepadgett.com/nggallery/page-230/album-1/gallery-36/page-2/#ngg-gallery-36

I suppose that this might present potential difficulties with "pretty permalinks", but wouldn't it be useful for galleries added deeper in the post? I just tested the second link above in the Address Bar and it seems OK.

Actually the example URLs given above don't really express what I'm saying so well.

    Consider this:

    http://www.mikepadgett.com/nggallery/post/andalusia/page-2/

Now clicking on the gallery for the next page refreshes the page and returns visitors to the top. To see page 3 of images, they'll have to scroll down again. On a big gallery, that might become irritating.

    So, following my suggestion:

    http://www.mikepadgett.com/nggallery/post/andalusia/page-3/#ngg-gallery-33

    ...now jumps nicely for you.
