    The nextgen help says:

To use now this template in a post or page you insert the tag:

    [ nggallery id=1 template=sample1 ]

This tells NextGEN Gallery to use ‘gallery-sample1.php’ to show the gallery output. Without this template tag, NextGEN takes the default template (gallery.php) from the plugin folder.

But the plugin download does not include gallery-sample1.php, gallery-sample2.php etc

    Help please.

    You haven’t answered my question.

I know how to apply a template.

My question was where are the templates?

Why are they not included with the plugin?

Avoid this plugin. The download does not include the example templates. The developer has sold the codebase and the new owner provides no useful support – see above….

Looks like the sample templates aren’t packaged in the plugin any longer. I have the following gallery templates:

    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/view/gallery.php
    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/view/gallery-carousel.php
    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/view/gallery-caption.php
    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/view/gallery-extend.php
    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/view/gallery-compact.php

If someone out there has an older implementation, the samples might be available on their installation. I wouldn’t “avoid this plugin”. While Photocrati may not be as responsive as Alex was, it is still a very powerful and useful tool. Good luck, bikeman123!

I think sample1 etc never existed they were exmaple names in relation to creating your own template/s.
