Nextgen not working after upgrading to wordpress 3.4 (51 posts)

    Updated my wordpress site to newest version 3.4 and my galleries aren't working. When I click on a thumbnail it takes me to a single static page with the image instead of the window page with navigation to go forwards or backwards. Has anyone else run into this problem after updating to wordpress 3.4? Anyone know how to fix it? Also I'm a newbie and don't know if I can uninstall and reinstall nextgen plugin without loosing all the galleries I've already set up.

    Looking for help on this.
    Thanks.

    Just for the record, I have just upgraded to WP 3.4 and ran into the same problem. WP 3.4 seems to have created issues for theme developers and most likely for plugin developers as well, as Nextgen Gallery users like us are now finding out. It's my first time to have a problem with Nextgen Gallery. Let's hope Alex Rabe can whip up a fix for this soon. Otherwise we'll have to look for other options.

    Mine is broken as well. My gallery isn't showing all 20 images, just 11. I'm sure there will be a bug fix soon. :)

    Same Here

    When i use [nggallery id=x], it does display the images as gallery but if i use [album id=x], it does display the galleries inside the album, but when i click the gallery thumbnail, it does not display the images on that gallery.

    I noticed this bug when i upgraded to WP 3.4.

    Pls. FIX bug this ASAP.

    I see this forum of form contact 7 :

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/contact-form-7-breaks-nextgen-gallery-flash-upload?replies=8

    I've updated the issue in the NextGen file: ngg-config.php

    from:

    require_once( WP_LOAD_PATH . 'wp-load.php');

    to:

    require_once( WP_LOAD_PATH . 'wp-admin/admin.php');

    Now it works !!! Thank to Daniel Payne

    A partial correction re: my earlier post about Nextgen Gallery not working -- I had my gallery set to slideshow. It appears that it is only the slideshow setting that is not working in my case after upgrading to WP 3.4. The standard setting, i.e. [nggallery id=x], which I have now set as my gallery default, works fine with WP 3.4. BTW, I am using Headway Themes 3.2. I wonder if if the glitch is theme- or WP 3.4-related. Is anyone else having a similar problem with the slideshow feature?

    I'm having issues with NextGen Gallery, with our without slideshow setting.

    My error occurs when attempting to upload images (Flash and Non-Flash options). The error after uploading an image prevents me from seeing the Admin screens. I have to manually go back to /wp-admin/ in order to continue working.

    I am able to get images and galleries to appear on the pages, but the NextGen error makes this process very slow and difficult with WP 3.4

    After updating to WP 3.4 nggallery display the picture on a static page, that means, if i click on a thumbnail, tis will be displayed on a new page.
    Here are an expample:

    Yes! the code:

    require_once( WP_LOAD_PATH . 'wp-admin/admin.php');

    fix it for me! Finally after a few weeks of not being to update the gallery I'm back on track.

    I just installed NextGEN Gallery after the upgrade to wp 3.4 and I get an error every time I try to upload an image. The error reads:

    ERROR: drw03.jpg :
    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpcf7_add_tag_generator() in /home/sorryk5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/modules/text.php on line 152

    When I deactivated Contact Form 7, it worked fine. Anyone know why this would be happening?

    I'm just trying to wrap my head around how to try to fix this weird bug and don't know PHP or CSS. I have a problem when I tried to upload new images using NextGEN basic slideshow. The slideshow works fine (so far), but I can't upload any new images. When I try, I get the error message that it's conflicting somehow with the Contact Form 7 plugin and it just won't upload the images. The Contact Form 7 plugin seems to work as well, but i just can't upload any new images to my site.

    If I understand Coccinelle Poitiers' comment, I need to find the PHP file under the plugin Editor that's called ngg-config.php and then change
    equire_once( WP_LOAD_PATH . 'wp-load.php');

    to:

    require_once( WP_LOAD_PATH . 'wp-admin/admin.php');

    Is that right? I'm worried about doing it because I don't know CSS or PHP at all, but I would like to be able to update my NextGEN gallery and add some new images to it.

    Has anyone found any other ways around this bug? Also, if I want to upload new images to my site now, does it make sense that this is my only option for the time being?

    I have networked disabled Contact Form 7. This did not resolve the errors.

    I have updated ngg-config.php with the require_once( WP_LOAD_PATH . 'wp-admin/admin.php'); code. This did not resolve the errors.

    Here are the errors I see when viewing the portfolio page of the site:

    Has anyone found a fix for NextGEN Gallery opening photos in new window? Mine no longer open in the lightbox window.

    I had the same problem and I contacted the maker of my theme. They did an update of all of their themes to fix the nextgen bug with the 3.4 upgrade. My theme is cold theme by E404 themes. Just thought I'd mention it because perhaps those having problems can see if their theme has been updated to work with 3.4

    NextGen Gallery does not work with WP 3.4 even using the WP default theme (Twenty Eleven).

    Upon installation and activation of NextGen, the following error appears in WP Admin...

    Undefined index: wpmuStyle in /home/mysite/public_html/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/admin/admin.php on line 525

    I've tried deleting and reinstalling NextGen with no success.

    uli-tsv, there appears to be an issue with your theme. Your theme is including JS files that depend on jQuery, but the theme hasn't loaded JQuery first.

    You might be able to add the following to your functions.php file:

    add_action('wp_enqueue_scripts', 'fix_theme_jquery_issues', 1);
    function fix_theme_jquery_issues()
    {
    wp_enqueue_script('jquery');
    }

    No promises, but it should work. :)

    stephane76, is this just a recent problem? It sounds like you have "Disable the visual editor when writing" checkbox ticked in "Your Profile" for your user account.

    mweichert it is a recent problem, "Disable the visual editor when writing" was already unchecked, i tried checking and unchecking the box but nothing changes, nextGen doesn't show like it should when trying to build a new post

    SOLUTION: Deactivated ALL plug-ins, including NextGen. Then enabled NextGen, verified it's working, then enabled all other plug-ins - still working!!!

    I tried deactivating all plugins and re-enabling them, but did not help. I get no thumbnails to display and I cant edit them or regenerate the thumbails. I get a failure 'exceed memory limit' for each one.

    I was having the hardest time figuring out why my galleries wouldn't work - as soon as I deactivated Contact Form 7, everything in NextGEN started working again - looks like there are some issues with Contact Form 7 and WP 3.4 that are making some waves.

    I don't have Contact Form 7, and still am having issues with NextGen thumbnails.
