   I would like to have the thumbnail image be a different than the image that opens in the lightbox... is this possible?

   Obviuosly the thumbnails are generated from the image so they are closely tied together.

   I'd expect the only way to do this would be manually overwriting the thumbnail or image with the 'other' thumbnail or image you'd like to be displayed.
