I installed NextGen today and have the same issue. No thumbnails no matter how many times I have tried to regenerate them.

    And, if I click on a photo I get a 404 page.

I’m sure some option isn’t set right but I can’t figure out which one.

When logged into wordpress do you see thumbnails when looking in the Nextgen gallery itself?

If not then try uploading an image again but Disable the flash based upload. I had a similar problem and that fixed it. For me the flash upload doesn’t seem to create thumbnails – maybe I have something suppressed.

I reuploaded without Flash. It says it created thumbnails but they aren’t there. When I go to Manage Gallery, it shows a ? image. And I’ve tried recreating the thumbnails again on that page. No luck.

Removing the entire plug in and reinstalling has solved the issue.

Thanks for the replies but I am still having the same issue. @bbalfour , can you tell me exactly how you remove the entire plugin and reinstall it?

I deactivated it, deleted it, then proceeded to delete any remaining files via my FTP client. Then reinstalled, and still the same problem.

Can anyone else shed light on this problem too?

Have you ever found a way to resolve this?

    I had no images displayed.
I did the following and it fixed it:

    – Checked the folder images uploaded to. It should be 755 permission
    – I removed a could of characters from the file name on the server, the image appeared. Then I added all characters back (manually), the image was still showing.

So thumbs and images appeared in the admin part. (Though I get “memory limit exceed” when I click on Edit Thumb, even I tried to increase memory limit.)

    – In Description I entered a description with empty lines, quotes, as I thought the description will appear below the image. Actually it inserted that description into the img code (into “title” attribute).
Once I leave Description empty, the image appears in a gallery.

    Cheers,
    Natalie

    sorry:

    “- I removed a could of characters” ->
    “- I removed a couple of characters”
