[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Image display

I have had NextGen gallery installed on my blog for a couple of years now and have noticed recently that when an image is clicked on from its gallery, it no longer displays in the grey background with the ability to move back and forward between all the images in the album. The images now just display on a blank page.

I’ve also found that direct links to images aren’t working either, for example, I will insert an image into a post and it displays fine on my blog, but if someone clicks on the image from their Google Reader, they get a 404 error.

I’m not 100% sure when this started happening, but any advice or assistance as to what I might be able to do about it would be appreciated.
