[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] How should an update be done / Flash-Upload broken

First of all thanks for this great plugin!
I just downloaded the recent version of next-gen gallery and just uploaded it to the plugin folder, but not without backupping the old version! Lucky me. My whole Blog was broken! Just an error line and all was gone. Then I uploaded the old next-gen-folder again and everything was fine. Puhhhh. I was near to a heart-attack.

So how should an update be done correctly? I couldn’t find a step by step tut.

And a second question: Does the flash-upload button work in Firefox again with this update of the next-gen gallery?
