    I performed the update the latest version of nextgen, but the featured image function stopped working, would like an urgent help! My site is http://www.jogolimpo.com.br

    I am having the same problem.

    I was not sure, but seeing you mention the Nextgen update, it got to me that it indeed happened after the update.

    I have just tried about everything for a week now... no solution.

    I removed all plugins. restored the WP prior to the update. checked all the supposed fixes... nothing seems to help.

    I can upload a image. ( it saves to the server) but the " SET AS FEATURED IMAGE " shows me the "saving" text. but gets stuck. The image is never set as featured.

    I'm having the same Wixman's problem with 2 different sites.. it happens before last NextGEN update, two days ago!

    O Problema gente não é a Locaweb é um erro na versão 1.96 do PLG

    Sigam esse tuto:

    Excluam o Plugin NEXTGEN
    Ao excluir acessem o mySql
    Na tabela do db procure por wp_usermeta
    Dentro da tabela ache wp_user-settings
    algo como: ngg_show_update_notice196=1 estará grava nessa opção
    então apague essa linha ou se quiser a linha completa.

    Feito isso delete os cookies do navegador
    Tente fazer a imagem destacada salvar se tiver salvo perfeito está normal

    Para você não deixar de usar o Nextgen baixe a versão 1.93 e instale.

    Ela vai funcionar de boa!!!

    Delete the plugin, "Nextgen"
    Go to your mySql administration.
    on the table "wp_usermeta"
    Inside the table search for the "wp_user-settings" you will see aa line saing "ngg_show_update_notice196=1" delete the entire line, when these steps are done, delete the temp files from the browser and try again!

    I had the problem whent though the steps and it worked!!

    Sadly enough, when i check for ngg_show_update_notice196=1 , there is no such Metavalue in the WP_Users-Settings

    Hi guys anyone having problem with the featured image in the 1.9.6 version of the plugin.

    i keep saving the featured image, but when i go out of the edit page and go back the image just didn't save.

    anyone have any idea about that?

    Felipe, meu rpoblema não foi o nextgen 1.96, ele funciona no meu blog normal.
    Por segurança, deixe a versão 1,93 instalada.

    Is anyone else having this problem? I've got the same issue, I upgraded and now it won't save a featured image, just hangs.

    I noticed a solution above saying to delete nextgen...would this remove all the images? I've got over 1000...all linked on various articles, so don't want to cause any issues with the content if possible.

    Any help/advice would be appreciated!

    I am having the same problem. After isntalling NextGen when I go too set a featured image it just HANGS there saying SAVING.

    This is horrible for my site. I cannot modify or add any featured images in a post.

    Hi all,

    We're looking into this problem. We're not able to duplicate. Installing and using NextGEN does not negatively affect the ability to upload and set Featured Images. It also seems clear this is not a universal problem affecting all NextGEN users.

    All that leads us to believe that there's something specific that may be causing this - a theme or plugin conflict, or some specific server configuration. I noticed above that several people said that resolved this by working with their server or hosting company. If any of you can provide details as to what the problem was, that would be helpful. We may be able to adjust to plugin to account for those settings.

    For others, if you could let us know which host and theme your using, that would be helpful as well. Just provide us any information that would help us understand the conditions under which this is occurring for you.

    @W101Kam - Yup, we saw that. Thanks very much for taking the time to post a response for our sake and the others here. Much appreciated.

    I will say that it sounded from your initial post like this started after you did a NextGEN update. That's surprising since the solution didn't seem connected to NextGEN in any way. So the question is what changed to upset the functionality. I'm wondering if there is any more useful information in the error message. Looks like you deleted that portion out. If the URL referenced in the error message had anything to do with NextGEN, that would be useful to see, and you're welcome to contact us via http://www.nextgen-gallery.com with any more details.

    Otherwise, thanks very much! If anyone else has information, please let us know. In fact, if you are having this issue, and it did start directly following a NextGEN update, we'd be willing to login and trouble shoot your site if you'd be willing to provide login details.
