I need to move some photos to the very beginning (older, ie lower image IDs) of the gallery. How can I do this? I dont want to sort by asc/desc, I just simply need to move some photos I just added to the back of the gallery while keeping all the others in their current order.

Ive tried moveing the images from the old gallery to a new gallery and then back to the original gallery hoping it would give me new image IDs.

I dont want to have to go and make tags on a 100+ images and have to keep doing that every time I add photos so that the order is as desired to do a sort by tags.

Is there an editable database that I can get into that stores the Image IDs?

Have you tried using the Sort Gallery function? It's in the Manage Gallery panel. You can even drag and drop to your preferred order.

Where is the Sort Gallery function?

Is it a button or a drop down list item?
Using IE/Firefox I dont see the Sort Pic on the gallery list or the pic list pages or under gallery settings.

When you go into each individual gallery in Manage Gallery, there's a button labeled as Sort Gallery just above the image list.

Keep in mind, you need to set in options as sort order "Custom order"
