[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Click to Image Slider

I just installed nextgen and I need some help getting started since it is not obvious or documented after activated plugin. What I want to do is to be able to click on a small image that will bring up a slider on the same page with a portfolio/gallery of several images.

I was able to easily create a slider for a page with a short code using m-vslider, but didn’t know how to do this clickable image to slider. I was recommended to nextgen but i don’t see any instructions on how to do this. thanks so much for any help you may provide
