Dear sir,
After I have written some description of the photo, I click 'save changes' but it was not materialized. Why?
Secondly, I made the changes on page 2 or 3, but after 'save changes' it goes back to the 1st page, so, I have to go back to the page where changes have been made to see whether changes has taken place or not. By right after I click 'save changes' it should stay at that page so that I can verify if the changes has taken place or not.
Thank you
Khairun

I have the exact same issue on a client site. If these changes are done on the first page of a gallery they save OK. But on any other page they don't.
As a temporary workaround, click the "Sort Gallery" button then move the images you want to edit at the beginning of the list so they en up on the first page. Save new sort order. Go back to the gallery, make your description changes and save then go back to the sort page to put everything back in order.
I don't know when this problem appeared as this client site is the only one I manage where there's enough images in a single gallery to have more than one page of images. This site has been updated to WP 3.2 if it makes a difference. No idea if the issue existed before that.
Thanks!

Thanks Pixelyzed, I tried your solution and it works! Yes, this problem started after updating to 3.2, and seems to be the only issue with this plugin.

I have the exact same problem. I have wordpress 3.2 installed AND the latest NextGen (nextgen-gallery/admin/manage.php contains the code changes you posted at http://code.google.com/p/nextgen-gallery/source/detail?r=962 )
what else can be the problem
Found some other problems with pagination, should be finally fixed here :

Hi,
Just upgraded to 3.2 and I'm having a little issue with the Pagination menu on my gallery.

Have checked my code and the updates you posted are already included in my version of NextGen.
Any idea on what's causing this problem? It was working fine before I upgraded and also working fine on this clone install

UPDATE ON MY LAST POST
I tried disabling all my plugins one by one and I discovered that the conflicting Plugin seems to be Yoast's All in One SEO plugin.
Would like to be able to resolve this as I'd really like to be able to use both plugins on my site :)

Another Update :)
I fixed this by changing one of my settings in the the 'Yoast WordPress SEO' plugin.
All I had to do was uncheck the 'Redirect ugly URL's to clean permalinks. (Not recommended in many cases!)'
I now see why it's not recommended in many cases :)

Seconded.
I am using WP 3.2.1 and NGG 1.8.3 (manually checked that Alex's latest code modifications are present).
However, my problem is not in the pagination itself, but it seems to be somehow depending on the number of gallery items. For the first ~5–12 items (depending on the position of the moon) alt text / description modification goes well and changes are saved, while the rest of the items remain unchanged. The text "Update successful!" is shown.
I have tried disabling other plugins and also tried to accomplish this with different browsers but no dice.
NGG is a very powerful plugin and I like its flexibility. I hope this gets fixed really soon.
