So the issue still resides with wordpress 3.1….
@plesin, thanks! That worked for me. Hopefully this issue will be addressed in an update. There must be a WordPress tag/function to get the right site url right?
@wwdboer,
glad I could help, I’ve just read this thread
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/bug-site_url-giving-me-wordpress-address?replies=10
It looks like it just might be a bug, dunno, the other way of getting the correct site url should be either home_url() or bloginfo( ‘url’ ).
Any solution to my problem?
I don’t know if this will be useful to other user or not, but in my case, when I disable the HTTP compression plugin (mine is WP HTTP Compression), it allows me use the NextGen Gallery button to add gallery/images again.
So I guess, I my case there is a conflict with having both at the same time.
This is really strange. I’m having the same problem and I’ve done nothing to the site. I’m running WP 3.0.4 and NextGen Gallery 1.7.4 Everything was working fine. All I did was add a new album and now I can’t add a Gallery or Album via the visual editor.
I tried adding the shortcode manually but even though it shows the album I still can’t click on the album to see the slideshow.
Since I haven’t changed the site at all I find this behavior odd.
Any word on any fixes?
pretty much just gunna have to wait this out cant find any slideshow plugins that work good or i like ugh.

Lol in fact it don’t really fix the problem. After upgrade I missed to edit my index.php as before update.
I just edit it and the bug comme back.
On my index.php file I add: “ob_start(‘ob_gzhandler’);”. If I remove this line Nextgen Gallery don’t bug.
Maybe a conflict with cache/compression plugin for user who dont add this line themself?
I have the same problem as arsenic13 – WP 3.1.2 + NGG 1.7.4
Same problem here – WP 3.1.1, NGG 1.7.4, PHP 5.2. This is really frustrating, because in all other ways NGG is the answer to my problems, but it’s next-to-useless to use on a client site when they’re unable to add their own galleries to pages.
Clicking the drop-down menu on the add-a-gallery pop-up results in an infinite spinning timer, and nothing else happens. If I manually type a gallery name into the space where the drop-down menu is, and press INSERT, the pop-up disappears and the page remains empty, but in my browser error console I get the following:
The ‘charCode’ property of a keydown even should not be used. The value is meaningless
…admin-ajax.php?action=ngg_tinymce&ver=3393a200
does that mean anything to anyone?
