Can Nexgen generate medium size images for shuter or thickbox? (2 posts)

I am new to Nexgen gallery.

I expected that clicking on a thumbnail would show a medium-sized image and then clicking on that would show the original.

When I upload large (eg 4000 x 3000px) images, thumbnails are generated.

I can choose the thumbnail size OK. When I click on that what I see is the original very large image, but re-sized in the shutter ot thickbox window. This is slow, and poor quality.

Is there a way to get Nexgen to re-size a medium image on upload? I searched these forums and see old posts saying this was not supported. Is it now?

If not, it seems like a really obvious feature. If there is no medium, it's a real gap in the plugin's features.

Question for response - can anyone clearly list what nexgen can and cannot do and if this feature is coming in a new release?

Or is there a companion plugin to do this?

    Thanks

This would be an incredibly useful feature. I asked the question 3 years ago and it still doesn't seem to be possible. The only major flaw in an otherwise amazing plugin.
