I was looking for a plugin that allowed me to post a slideshow-style gallery and I settled on NextGen, but there are a lot of issues.

Namely, the right side of the photo frame is always cut off no matter how I size the images and when I input text (in the description field), the first line displays in between the nav arrows and then the second line displays below them.

    Ex: http://www.totalpackers.com/2013/01/27/awesome-san-francisco-49ers-tattoos-gallery/

This plugin is functional for what I want, but makes my pages look like crap.

Also, if I put a block of text in the description field that has a return in it, that causes the corresponding photo to not show up. So it’s not really effective at putting copy on a page at all.

Pretty simply, I’m looking for something that will display a gallery in this slideshow-like format, where I can also effectively input a title and some copy (and even use HTML) for each photo in the slideshow.

I’ve done some searching, but can’t seem to come up with anything. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Looks like it’s your settings.

Sorry I’m getting a migraine and off the top of my head I don’t remember.

Seems like you’re inserting the gallery as an Imagebrowser instead of Image list.

Which ever choice you made the result is showing the images at full resolution. So it won’t fit in your page with the columns you have.

You can either preset the files size in the Slideshow tab of the Options or check Activate PicLens/CoolIris General Options, and insert the Image list instead of Imagebrowser.

So people will see a list of images they can click on, or click the PicLens link that will now appear with your gallery. PicLens is a slideshow viewer, and you won’t have to resize pictures.

Sorry I can’t be more accurate, my head hurts.

    Good luck.

Ah, I didn’t mess with the setting much. Going through them now.

Doesn’t appear to fix all the issues though, particularly the way the text displays.

Clear your browser cache, or click refresh / reload while holding down the shift key.

    Good luck.

I actually found a much better option that doesn’t require my wasting a lot of time trying to figure out why the plugin doesn’t work properly. Also does exactly what I want it to.

Theia Post Slider if anyone is interested. It’s not free, but it’s cheap enough.

I know this is a old post, but other people my find it useful:

you can use the image store plugin and disable all store features and you can use it just to manage galleries,
