I was wondering if it is possible to use an alternate url for a gallery.
Right now the url for a gallery is something like this: http://mywebsite.com/own-content?album=2&gallery=697 but I would much rather have something like http://mywebsite.com/mygalleries01 and http://mywebsite.com/mygalleries02. That would allow a much better description of a gallery and I bet Google likes it better as well.
Is this possible or not? Am I overlooking something here? I think I am not the only using NextGen who would really like to have this available.
You can activate the gallery permalinks (see galelry options)
I did that, but the permalink is not to my liking. This is what it is now:
http://mywebsite.com/nggallery/page-67/album-2/gallery-701
where I want it to be something like this:
http://mywebsite.com/gallerynameichose
I would like to have nggallery out of the way.
Why is there page-67 in the url? Don't remember putting that in somewhere.
The number of the gallery is 701 indeed, but I would like the url to be something based on the name of the gallery.
Is this possible?

Like Alex said, enable permalinks in the NextGen Gallery options. Mine looks fine, eg; http://photoblog.torralba.us/photo-gallery/2009-sand-in-the-city

My permalinks for galleries If I just create a page and use a shortcode for them but I do get the nggallery/page-x if I use the album view and navigate to it from there. My guess is the album templates or something.
Even after updating permalinks structure the url of each gallery is like
http://mywebsite.com/nggallery/page-237/album-1/gallery-3;
any advice?
thank you.

Have nearly the same problem as BuddyRich.
Why does nextgen-gallery insert "nggallery" into the permalink? Can't I change that behaviour?
