[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] After uploading photos, gallery admin pages come up blank (24 posts)

    Whenever I upload images and go to Add Gallery/Images or Manage Gallery, those pages come up blank. If I delete the references to all images in the db, the pages come up fine. I've tried lot's of different kinds of upload and the problem persists (zip file, single image, etc).

    I've turned on debug mode for wordpress and i don't get any errors. My php memory_limit is 64 MB. I've tried disabling all other plugins to no avail.

    Help!

    Thanks,
    Peter

    I'm having a similar problem after creating my first gallery.

    Anyone have a fix?

    Hey, I've got a similar problem after updating from 0.99. Blank screen on all wp-admin pages... I installed 0.99 again and it works fine... but anyway, I'd like to see the new version of this great plugin!!!

    I hope this doesn't sound like I'm nagging, because that is not my intend. I'm simply curious if fixing this problem is a high priority. If it is, then I will wait for the fix. If not, I am going to have to resort to down-grading to a previous working version. Please let me know. Thanks.

    Did this get resolved?

    Or maybe this problem is corrected with the pending release?

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks!

    Which NGG version do you currently use ?

    The NGG version that is not working is 1.1.0. I have it 'plugged in' to WordPress 2.7.1.

    The servers stats and settings are:

    * Operating System : SunOS
    * Server : Apache
    * Memory usage : 21.83 MByte
    * MYSQL Version : 4.1.20-log
    * SQL Mode : Not set
    * PHP Version : 5.0.5
    * PHP Safe Mode : Off
    * PHP Allow URL fopen : On
    * PHP Memory Limit : 64M
    * PHP Max Upload Size : 16M
    * PHP Max Post Size : 8M
    * PHP Max Script Execute Time : 300s
    * PHP Exif support : No
    * PHP IPTC support : Yes
    * PHP XML support : Yes

    The graphics library stats and settings are:

    * GD Version : 2.0 or higher
    * FreeType Support : Yes
    * FreeType Linkage : with freetype
    * T1Lib Support : No
    * GIF Read Support : Yes
    * GIF Create Support : Yes
    * JPG Support : Yes
    * PNG Support : Yes
    * WBMP Support : Yes
    * XPM Support : No
    * XBM Support : No
    * JIS-mapped Japanese Font Support : No

    The previous version of NGG (I can't recall its version number) worked fine. This problem surfaced only when NGG 1.1.0 was installed.

    When I install the older NGG plugin into another WordPress installation, the older NGG works just fine. While not conclusive, this leads me to believe that the problem lies somewhere in the 1.1.0 NGG plugin.

    Thanks!

    For what it's worth, the latest version of NextGen, 1.2.0RC2, has this same problem -- the "Add Gallery / Images" and the "Manage Gallery" producing virtually blank screens -- as version 1.1.0 has.

    One thing I noticed on both the 1.1.0 and the 1.2.0 installs is the following message appears after the "upgrade" phase of the installation:
    -- quote --
    Upgrade NextGEN Gallery

    Upgrade database structure...finished
    Update file structure...
    -- unquote --

    I allowed 20 minutes to pass waiting for the "Update file structure..." to declare that it had finished. No such luck.

    I do not know if the update of the file structure ever did complete successfully as I don't know what it is supposed to look like.

    My question now is: Could an un-updated file structure be the problem?

    And another question is: What is the file structure of a successful installation supposed to look like?

    Very strange, it's normally changing the structure and raise up then the version number, do you have access to your database via phpmyadmin ?

    Yes. What am I to look for?

    I went ahead and reverted back to the last working version I have (.98). BTW, the "Import Folder" you included in the .98 version made this task as easier than I'd anticipated. Thanks!

    Alex, I am happy to work with your new version of NextGen in my WordPress testing installation if you'd like some assistance in trying to find whats causing the blank pages that some of us are experiencing.

    Whether this has anything to do with the problem I'm experiencing, I don't know, but I did notice that version .98 of NextGen generated 5 database table entries while the newer versions (1.1.0 and 1.2.0) only generated 3 database table entries.

    Regards,
    Henry

    I too experience similar problems and here is a description and hope it helps in solving this bug.

    Add gallery/Images - when I press the button add gallery - nothing happens
    the same with Import image folder - button

    I can upload and those functions are normal

    In Manage Gallery and in Gallery settings (at the top)- there is blank.
    (is there supposed to be something - besides the text?)
    actions like move images beetwen galleries functions alright!

    In Album - I can´t create albums

    sort gallery is blank - (is there supposed to be something...?)

    basically the problem here seems to be that I can´t create galleries and albums by pushing the buttons

    I think this did come about in nextgen 1.1.0 and now also in 1.2.0

    I have WordPress 2.7.1 and use Plugin Central (without errors)

    Hi Alex,

    In response to your question, I was using 1.1.0. I've just upgraded to 1.2.0 and the problem persists.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi, Alex,
    I am just curious if this problem of blank gallery and image management screens is getting any attention by those who have the expertise to fix it.

    If so, is there an estimate of when it may be fixed.

    Thanks!
    Henry

    I also get a strange problem in image management screens. I get the creation date in the filename field. When I check the database, the filename field is correct. Is it a problem of the NGG 1.2.1 with wordpress 2.7.1 or 2.7.0? I have experienced similar problem in two different platforms.

    I have no idea where to look. Follow idea : Check this script http://alexrabe.boelinger.com/2008/03/21/11-3/

    If all works ok for you with the test script , I need access to the blog & server so that I can debug it. If some is interested please contact me by mail.
