Check the permission of the files in the plugin folder "view", maybe reupload the plugin again
Where is the view folder located? What should the permissions be set to?
I have set the permissions of everything inside the nextgen plugin folder to 777 and still nothing is working. I still have the same error.
Delete the plugin folder, and reinstall it again...
I have deleted the plugin folder and reinstalled and nothing has fixed the issue.. :(
upgrading to 2.8.6 seems to have caused a number of problems here as well... a "sliding door menu" now fails to slide. Did anything change with jsquery or mootools???
Anyone able to resolve this issue with
Rendering of template gallery.php failed
Anyone?
Has anyone been able to resolve this issue?? I have deleted the plugin folder and reinstalled the plugin and still nothing has been able to fix the issue..
My wp-content folder has been moved in wp-config.php to /static/content, and the plugins is located in /static/content/plugins.
And when you downgrade to the old version, then it works again ?
Me too..having the same problem after upgrading. Alexrabe, can you solve it? or has anybody else been able to resolve this issue?
Please post a link... and switch back to a older version. Does it work ?
How to downgrade to older version? by deleting the lastest one and reinstall the older version?
Yes
I have downgraded to 1.3.6 and still nothing is working, still gives me the same error....
I am running it at CandidNights.com. You have to be registered in order for the nextgen gallery to show. Instead of showing thumbnails it displays "Rendering of template gallery.php failed"
I am experiencing the same error with WP 2.8.6 & NextGen 1.4.2
I don't belive this is a issue of 1.4 x, otherwise much more used should have the same problem. I can't reproduce this here. Chcek the permissions of the view folder, this is the only possible problem I know so far
I have resolved the issue. The file in the view folder was named album-extend.php rather than album-extended.php.
??? but the file is namend "extend" since V1.00 ??? (I agree extended is better, but I used the name extend | compact a very very long time )
Don't know what to tell you. The package I downloaded from the WP site includes "album-extend.php" in the View folder.
The error being thrown on my album page was "Rendering of template album-extended.php failed."
So I just changed the file name to what the system appeared to be expecting. Nothing more.
Ok, resolved the true issue.
I called the album with "[album id=1 template=extended]" as my shortcode. Turns out I was quickly scanning rather than reading your documentation.
The plugin appears to take that shortcode literally when searching for a file name. The other individual in this thread appears to have made the same user error that I did. I assumed when I saw this thread existed that it was an actual bug...
...the only bug here is lazy users. Thanks for your attention though.
For future reference, the proper format is [album id=X template=extend]
Thanks for the feedback ! Just wondering why this happend AFTER the upgrade. Everytime I release a new version I do my best to ensure that you didn't get compat issues...
Stupid me. I decided to let this plug in upgrade automatically. Now I have an empty nextgen gallery plug-in folder, a broken nggSlideshowWidget() on my homepage, and now that the zip versions of the plug-in are not available, no way to download the plug-in and fix the issue. So now I'm stuck commenting out the widget call and have no slideshow on my homepage. The nextgen slideshow was the only thing providing any visuals.
I am calling specific nextgen galleries in individual wordpress posts.
[nggallery id=xx]
Yet I still get the following error:
Rendering of template gallery.php failed
I have reinstalled the plugin. I have also downgraded and that hasnt worked for me and then upgraded and nothing has fixed the error. I have changed the permissions to '755' and even '777' to the entire nextgen folder and every sub directory and file underneath and nothing has resolved the issue.
