   URGENT

   I'm using WP 2.8.5 and NextGen Gallery 1.4.1. A few days ago I'd upgraded NextGen Gallery first before I upgraded WP to 2.8.5. I was almost in a shock when I found out that my Apache2 server (Strato VPS) couldn't start anymore. The upgrade deleted my entire /srv/www dir, with all of my vhosts. Luckily I saved my files the day before and performed a recovery.

   Is this problem already solved? I don't want to update to the newest version because I'm afraid it will happen again.

   I`m beginning to think this has happedned to me too. How did you upgrade?
   I did not backup.

   Solution: this time I've installed 2.8.6 first and after that I've upgraded all my plugins except XML-Sitemap plugin (v 3.2). First gonna check out the support forums and after that I'm gonna install the new version of this plugin.

   ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR DATA BEFORE UPGRADING WP OR CHANGE IMPORTANT SETTINGS!

   Pretty good advise I guess!
