[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Advice for safe update

    Hi
    I am getting ready to update my site to WP 3.3.1. I already did a test on a subdomain, to see what problems I could have with the theme and the plugin I’m using.
    So far all has been okay. I’ll do the update this weekend.
    I just had a problem updating NextGen Gallery though, when I did the exercise on the test the new version of NextGen somehow deleted all the galleries I had on the test site. So I’m worried about this. Therefore I’m writing here, to prevent a panic attack, or the lost of my hair in a second.
    Could you please give a set of instruction to update NextGen to keep the old configuration, the old galleries set up, and classification, and to avoid any accidents that could happen in the process?
    I will update from the nextgen version 1.5.3 to the latest. First of course I’ll update WP to the latest version (3.3.1) and then your plugin.
