I'm trying to customize the imagebrowser layout. Everything is working fine but I'd like to get a list of the PIDs in the gallery (to put direct links on the page) Is there a more API-like way to get this than to call nggShowGallery( $galleryID)?

Check the nggdb lib, there you get more data which you can use
