    Hi shauno,

Thanks for the wonderful plugin, but I can't seem to let it work on my end. I have installed your plugin but could not save data on custom fields i added on images.

Moreso, I can't delete the fields I created since I cannot input data? Is there some permissions that I failed to set that's why its not saving the custom links.

By the way, I haven't seen the plugin in action so I just wanna ask ahead if we click the image with the custom link. Does it open on the same browser or it popups a new window? I would prefer it would pop-up a new window and would like to know if that's possible as well.

    Thanks

    Hi michbern

First thing you need to understand, is that the plugin hasn't been created to allow custom links for images. This plugin lets you add as many custom fields, to as many images as you need. It is then up to you what you want to do with that data.

But, you are correct in that the it can be used to create alternate links for images.
Have a look at the thread here for how that is done.

Now, about your problem. What version of NextGEN Gallery, and of the custom fields plugin are you running?
You say you can't save the data for the custom fields. Does that mean you can create custom fields, and then see them in the manage gallery screen in NextGEN at least?

Thanks for the reply. Im using NextGen gallery version 1.3.5 and Nextgen Custom Fields version .7

Yes, I tried creating custom fields of images which can be seen in the manage gallery and yes when I type data (eg. http://www.domain.com) when i press the save button, it doesn't save it. All the default boxes such as tags can be saved.

    Im using wordpress 2.8.4 also

Have you run the upgrade url: http://www.YOUR-DOMAIN.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=nextgen-gallery-custom-fields/ngg-custom-fields.php&mode=upgrade

I can't understand why the plugin would save the custom field, but not the data. I will have to do some testing, and get back to you.

    Sorry
