• I just updated my NextGen Gallery plugin and all of the Link URLs I set for the images in the gallery are now gone. It insteads displays the image larger when clicked rather than redirecting the user to the associated URL. Can anyone please explain how I can recover the association of the Link URLS from nextgen gallery custom field with the updated version of nextgen gallery. Thanks.

  • Hey

When you update NextGEN it will overwrite the templates you had to edit. You need to make the change to the template again.

I’m quite late with this but you should just copy all gallery template-files to your theme directory.

Just copy all needed template files from “plugins/nextgen-gallery/view” to “/themes/YOUR_THEME/nggallery/”. No further changes on the gallery settings are needed, ’cause ngg-gallery will look for the template-files in your theme folder first.
Long story short: your gallery-templates aren’t affected on any NGG-update. Ah yeah, if you’re using themes like twentyeleven which can be updated too, save the nggallery folder first, ’cause the theme-update may overwrite it as well.

    good luck!
