[resolved] Blank canvas at start - due to wrong directory? (3 posts)

I'm seeing a turquoise blank canvas when the puzzle is first shown. If I browse the Gallery and pick an image, then it works.

I'm also seeing 404 errors in my log for attempts to access the names of the images in the wrong directory. The files are trying to be read from the current upload directory (which contains the current month and year), but they actually are in a gallery directory.
    /wp-content/uploads/2012/10/technical-small-missing-piece.jpg

That image is actually in the directory
    /wp-content/gallery/technical-puzzles/

Maybe that is an attempt to read a cached image, but there are dozens of failures so caching (if any) is not working. I see no error messages being given in the puzzle area.

I'm also seeing many attempts to access the default images, probably due to the other failure.
    /wp-content/uploads/2012/10/ocean-starfish.jpg

More oddly, a URL without the double-slash after http, and looking in my local puzzle gallery for a default image instead of the images which actually are in that directory:
    http:/example.com/wp-content/gallery/technical-puzzles/ocean-starfish.jpg
    (actual URL edited to example.com)

    Hi RoamFree,

would like to better understand that because I cant reproduce that error.
The upload directory should only be used when the resize option is enabled. If so the plugin uses the upload directory (write enabled) for the resized copy. Can you try to specifically set the "temporary path" option and see whether its beeing used?
Maybe you can send a test url to my email adress tomATmypuzzle.org.

    Thanks for your help
    Thomas

The current upload directory is being used for the resized images, as it should be. FTP shows me the images are now in that directory.

I'll mark this as being resolved, because the only visible issue at present is being handled in a different thread.
